Your Day at Artista

Workshops and activities are scheduled to best suit your pace, but never feel obliged to make every event. We never forget this is your safari and you may choose to explore the village, walk on the beach, or just relax. Yoga

Included with all Artista Safaris

Enhance your creative journey from a centered place within yourself ~ join an afternoon yoga session. Let the serenity of Carmel's environment relax you as you extend, breathe, and stretch. Our yoga session is a perfect break from painting and welcoming to beginners as well as more experienced yogis. The style is a combination of the traditional yoga format, loosely structured to enable you to experiment with the postures, respond to your individual needs, and stay within your own comfort level. Yoga sessions are held at the Carmel Yoga Center, three blocks from the Artista studio. Alternative yoga class times are available.

Massage

The human touch - the oldest, simplest form of therapy - restores us physically, mentally, and spiritually. Our certified therapist is trained in a variety of massage styles and will help you decide what type is best for you. The massage studio is one block from our studio and the hotels. We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance to guarantee the best scheduling options.

Welcome Reception, Orientation and Dinner Party
Included with all Safaris.
You'll start your week off with cocktails, an orientation with our crew, and a tapas dinner party at the Cypress Inn. It's the perfect way to get to know your fellow Artistas and settle into the pace of Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Evening Painting Party
Included with all Safaris.
Just as your artistic energy peaks towards the end of the week, we host a late-night painting party. Wine, beverages and sweets are served, and energetic music is provided. You're welcome to paint until 11 pm.

Exploring Carmel
Encouraged at all Safaris
You are welcome to stroll on the beach, visit the galleries or indulge in shopping the endless rows of boutiques at any time. Carmel-by-the-Sea is perfectly walkable and friendly, so if the mood strikes you, feel free to do your own exploring.

Spend some time extra time in Carmel-by-the-Sea
Many Artista guests become so immersed in painting that they miss the chance to get out and see all the peninsula has to offer. Visitors from all over the world come to see the Seven Wonders of Monterey County, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the historic Carmel Mission, Carmel's white sand beach, scenic 17 Mile Drive, and Point Lobos State Park. Also, consider Carmel's 100+ galleries, endless boutiques, and world class restaurants. Your concierge can assist with arrangements and directions to the best of the region.

If you're considering adding days onto your safari, we recommend planning ahead, as rooms are not always available last-minute. Just let us know if you'd like to book an extra night at your hotel.

Treat yourself to a spa treatment
We can arrange a variety of body treatments with our favorite therapists. Located steps from the Artista studio and your hotel, ask us for options and rates. We recommend booking at least three weeks in advance to guarantee the best scheduling options.
